Milder Weather Is Near

2 PM Temperatures this afternoon are still in the teens-low 20's (map above). Still just 14 degrees at Worcester and Pittsfield, MA! Temperatures will finally begin to moderate tomorrow, though. Tonight will be cold, with lows in the single numbers & teens, though not quite as cold as last night. As the milder air begins to work in tomorrow, some snow and/or rain showers will come through during the afternoon/early evening. It doesn't look like a lot of precipitation, however there could be a coating of snow from this in the northern hills of CT, higher elevations of southeastern NY, and parts of MA. High temperatures Tuesday will reach 40+ late in the day near and southeast of the red line on the above temperature map. Basically from Newark, NJ, Hartford, CT, and Lawrence, MA, south & east.

I think there will be a lull in the precipitation early Tuesday night and then a period of rain late Tuesday night/early Wednesday morning, along with an increasing southerly wind and rising temperatures. Looks like some partial clearing during Wednesday with highs in the 40's (to around 50 south). Another period of rain comes through late Wednesday night/early Thursday, then a few lingering showers during the rest of Thursday, but temperatures should reach 50+ through most of the region. Colder weather will return by next weekend.
