Warm Up In Sight

A developing area of low pressure will hug the coast, resulting in rain spreading from southwest to northeast across the region tomorrow. Once it gets going, it will become a soaking rain into Saturday night. Highs will be in the 50's Saturday, lows in the 40's. The steady rain will taper to scattered showers from west to east early Sunday. It will be breezy Mother's Day, with highs in the 50's (maybe a couple spots touch 60). There could be a couple breaks of sun, but the chance for a passing shower continues through Sunday. It now looks like Monday will be the last day that we are held hostage by the upper-level low. More of the same then, with considerable cloudiness (perhaps a couple breaks of sun), a couple passing showers, and breezy conditions with temps in the low-mid 60's. It now appears that upper-level ridging will take shape over us, beginning Tuesday. This will result in warmer and drier conditions, with highs rising into the 70's & 80's next week. The warmest day right now looks to be Thursday, when some locations could reach the mid-80's. It looks like the ridging aloft will hold for the foreseeable future, which bodes well for keeping nicer weather around here.
