A Snow Sandwich

Above: SREF (Short Range Ensemble Forecast) Mean forecast for 1 AM Sunday.

Mild weather this morning and even milder weather early next week will sandwich a short period of colder, snowy weather early this weekend.

  1. Showers/drizzle/fog this morning. Looks like we stay mostly cloudy this afternoon with the chance for a shower - even after the cold front has passed. Northwest wind increasing to 10-25 mph this afternoon, with gusts to 30+ mph possible, as temperatures fall through the 40's.

  2. Clearing & colder tonight. Lows 18-24.

  3. Morning sun Saturday. Becoming cloudy in the afternoon. Highs in the 30's to about 40.

  4. Snow likely Saturday night, ending by sunrise Sunday. Still looks like 2"-6" for most of the state to me at this point but snowfall ranges are always subject to tweaking right through the end of the event based on information that is not yet available. The NWS has a Winter Storm Watch up across the state for Saturday night. They are forecasting 4"-8" amounts across the state at this time.

  5. Clearing Sunday. Highs in the 40's.

  6. Despite some cloudiness and showers at times it looks like high temperatures will be around 50 Monday and in the 60's Tuesday & Wednesday. It is not out of the question that parts of the state could hit 70 degrees Wednesday!
