More Snow?

Above: NAM forecast for 8 PM Wednesday (Click to enlarge).

After enjoying some mild weather in February (remember the high of 77 degrees at BDL and 78 at BDR on the 21st?), the Winter weather pattern that established itself earlier this month shows no sign of abating. The most recent computer guidance, including the brand new morning runs suggest that accumulating snow is likely again Wednesday into Wednesday night.

  1. It looks like precipitation associated with the first coastal low will miss us to the south Tuesday.

  2. Some snow showers could reach parts of the state late Tuesday night. More widespread precipitation will develop during Wednesday morning as the second low moves off the mid-Atlantic coast. The precipitation may included both snow and sleet initially, but will change to all snow by later Wednesday & Wednesday night.

  3. My initial estimate for snow accumulation across CT is 4"-8" by the time it tapers off late Wednesday night/Early Thursday morning. This is a relatively conservative estimate considering the newest guidance. Expect those amounts to be updated as more data about the storm becomes available.

  4. Northeast to North wind will increase to 15-25 mph, with gusts to 30+ mph Wednesday.
