Outlook For The Weekend & Beyond
Above: numerous flood warnings around New England this morning. Winter storm warnings in the lee of the eastern Great Lakes for locally up to 1-2 feet of lake effect snow today & tomorrow.
Mostly dry weather today (somebody might see a snow flurry) but lingering issues this morning from the 1.5"-3.5" of rain that fell yesterday. Numerous areas of flooding and black ice linger into this morning.
Intervals of cloudiness expected through the weekend. While a scattered flurry is possible today, most of the area stays dry. Highs in the upper 30's. A little colder Saturday with highs around 30. The chance for a snow or rain shower develops Sunday as a cold front approaches, but highs reach the low 40's.
Next significant precipitation scheduled to develop by Tuesday or Tuesday night. Still sorting out the details on timing and rain vs. snow.
Cold, arctic air moves back in by Thursday & Friday.
