Outlook For The Weekend & Beyond

Above: numerous flood warnings around New England this morning. Winter storm warnings in the lee of the eastern Great Lakes for locally up to 1-2 feet of lake effect snow today & tomorrow.

  • Mostly dry weather today (somebody might see a snow flurry) but lingering issues this morning from the 1.5"-3.5" of rain that fell yesterday. Numerous areas of flooding and black ice linger into this morning.

  • Intervals of cloudiness expected through the weekend. While a scattered flurry is possible today, most of the area stays dry. Highs in the upper 30's. A little colder Saturday with highs around 30. The chance for a snow or rain shower develops Sunday as a cold front approaches, but highs reach the low 40's.

  • Next significant precipitation scheduled to develop by Tuesday or Tuesday night. Still sorting out the details on timing and rain vs. snow.

  • Cold, arctic air moves back in by Thursday & Friday.
