Snow Squalls & Bitter Cold

Snow squalls associated with an arctic cold front will move across the state from west to east between roughly 3 pm & 6:30 pm today producing a quick coating to an inch or so of snow and greatly reducing visibility briefly. Strong gusty winds will accompany the front. Could see gusts to 50+ mph by late afternoon. This event will have impacts on the evening commute in many places. We could see the first ever Snow Squall Warning issued in CT later today (a new NWS advisory that went into use in November).
Bitter, arctic air follows the frontal passage. Temps fall into the single numbers above & below 0 tonight with wind chills falling into the double digits below 0!
Thursday will be bright & sunny but breezy & frigid, with highs in the teens.
Temps moderate over the weekend. 32 Saturday, 40 Sunday, 40's Monday.
