Below: NWS Ice accretion forecast through Thursday morning. (Click to Enlarge).

  • Clouds increase this afternoon. Rain & freezing rain spread across the state from west to east between roughly 5:30 pm-8:30 pm.

  • Much of northern 2/3rd's of the state will have slick travel for a while, with the greatest extent of icing most likely across the northern hills, where up to 0.10"-0.25" of ice accretion could occur.

  • Lows will be near 32 degrees tonight. A 1 or 2 degree difference will have a big impact on the extend & duration of icing. As a result, this forecast could easily change between now & tonight. Above maps look like a reasonable estimate at this time.
