A Light Snowfall On The Way

Above: High resolution NAM model forecast for midnight tonight (click to enlarge).

  • A few flurries or snow showers will arrive in parts of the state this afternoon. Across most of the state, accumulating snow probably won't occur until toward or after dark. If the ground coats up before that it will probably be north & west of Hartford - especially toward the CT/MA border.

  • Occasional, light snow tonight, tapering off toward dawn. Accumulations generally 1"-4" with the highest amounts toward the CT/MA border. Southwestern CT may have trouble scraping together an inch or so.

  • This will be a light, easy to remove snow. Snow-to-liquid rations probably 12 or 15 to 1 instead of the typical 10-1. However, some impact on the Thursday morning commute likely.

  • Early clouds Thursday, then becoming partly sunny with highs in the 30's.
